Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana became household names when they participated in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss 13. The duo met in 2019 and soon fell in love. After being in a relationship for four years, the couple broke up in 2023. At the time, the duo confirmed that the breakup was mutual and due to their different religious beliefs.
During a recent podcast with Paras Chhabra, Himanshi once more spoke about the breakup and implied it was due to his demand that she convert to Islam. Now, Asim has spoken up. In a lengthy Instagram note, Riaz denied all of Khurana’s allegations and even took a dig at Chhabra for bringing up the past. Scroll to read all he said.
Asim Riaz Dismisses Himanshi Khurana’s ‘Conversion’ Claims
Days after Himanshi Khurana’s interview went viral, Asim Riaz took to social media and rejected claims of ever asking her to change her religion. He wrote, “I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once.” He continued, “Matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You’ve been in this shape only after meeting me; before that, everyone knew how you looked. So please, don’t use religion as a weapon. It’s a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you’re willing to go for attention.”
Asim further added, “And when it came to my career, I never needed anyone to build it for me or claim credit for what they never contributed.” Talking about the finances, “Who has more money and who has less? Well, if you really want to know, the bank statements can settle that. But money was never the measure of character.”
Asim Riaz’s lengthy Insta post further read, “Character is how far you’re willing to fall when you’re desperate for attention, relevance, or a few more views. Years later, digging through old relationships and personal life just to create more gossip says more about the person digging than the person being talked about.”
Along with dismissing Himanshi Khurana’s claims, Asim Riaz also called out Paras Chhabra. He wrote, “And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession, brother, respectfully, I’d suggest spending a little less time discussing other people’s lives and a little more time in the gym.”
Asim Claims Himanshi Wanted To Reconcile
Not just Instagram, Asim Riaz also took to X (formerly Twitter) and put out a strong-worded message against Himanshi Khurrana. He tweeted, “Bad relationship- thyroid, anxiety, depression, nosebleed, face old, Smell from hair, face acne. So why did you message me after 3 months in March and wanted to get back to this relationship? Don’t worry, I have the message screenshot; if needed, I will post it next time. (sic)”
Himanshi’s Claims
In a recent conversation with fellow Bigg Boss 13 contestant Paras Chhabra, Himanshi got candid about faith, spirituality and her relationship with Asim Riaz. Talking about their break up, she said, “He used to tell me the good things about his religion. Everyone tells you about those things; there is nothing wrong with that. They wanted me to understand it and accept it, but it was not acceptable to me. There was nothing wrong with him; he never misbehaved with me, but it was my own choice that I did not want to do something like that.”
She continued, “I felt like I was betraying my God. I felt I wouldn’t be able to do this anymore. So I said I want to visit Char Dham and all the pilgrimages before that, because after that I would never be able to meet them. It was like I was saying goodbye. The fact that this question even arose was a big thing – why did I feel like I was saying goodbye to my God?”
Let’s wait and see if Himanshi reacts to this post.
