In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Barun opened up about his switch from television to OTT. “People ask me this and the only difference is that the OTT platforms have no telecast date and there are no bounds. Otherwise, it’s light, action, camera for everyone,” said the handsome actor.

When asked if there’s any difference on the creative front in these two mediums, Barun said, “Honestly, I can’t compare the two industries. I have always voiced out that television’s format needs to change. The only limitation is time. So there is an enormous amount of talent coming from the television to OTT because the time is not a constraint.”

Many television actors have made their way to digital platforms and tried to prove themselves by taking up varied roles. When quizzed if OTT has become a way out for television actors, Barun shared, “That could be one of the reasons. Everyone keeps thinking that actors are the be-all and end-all. It’s not actually it’s all the teamwork. An actor’s life is based a lot on opportunities that they get so more than manifesting it is based on making the right choices.”

The ‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’ actor has always made his female fans skip a heartbeat with his mesmerising roles, especially as Arnab Raizada. Speaking about his plans to return to television, Barun said, “I’d love to, I think it is a phenomenal medium. But the whole thing is that I would love to do a show that is a game-changer in the programming.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Barun features in the new series ‘The Missing Stone’. He revealed that the show was shot after the lockdown with all Covid-19 precautions in place. Sharing about filming in the new normal, the actor said, “We were restricted to one resort. The producers made everyone travel to Kolhapur to one resort. Quarantined them in their room for 5 days and then started shooting. It was a bit different and everyone was feeling different. Our bodies were not used to it and we were getting tired quickly.”

Apart from Barun, ‘The Missing Stone’ also stars Bidita Bag. The series premiered on MXPlayer.
