Veteran actor Satish Kaul, who played the role of Lord Indra in Mahabharat, breathed his last today (April 10) due to Covid-19 complications in Ludhiana. He was 74. His sister Satya Devi confirming the news told indianexpress.com that he had fever for the last five-six days and wasn’t keeping well. He was admitted to Shri Rama Charitable Hospital and he tested Covid positive there. Kaul’s sister also said that the funeral will take place on Sunday i.e on April 11. Kaul is survived by his sister.

Last year, the actor faced a financial crisis during the Coronavirus induced lockdown. As per a report by PTI, he was even struggling to buy even medicines and groceries. He appealed to the film industry to help him financially, Satish had told to PTI, “I’m staying in a small rented place in Ludhiana. I was staying in an old age home earlier but then I’m here at this place with my good samaritan Satya Devi. My health is ok, I’m doing fine but the lockdown has made matters worse. I’m struggling for medicines, groceries and basic needs. I appeal to the industry people to help me. I got so much love as an actor, I need some attention now as a human in need.”

Satish has also worked in 300 Punjabi and Hindi films. He appeared in films like Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha and Aunty No 1., Warrant, Gunaho Ka Faisla, Dance Dance, Prem Parbat, Bhakti Me Shakti, Ram Lakhan and Pyar To Hona Hi Tha among others.
