‘On June 14, 22-year-old TV actress Sanchita Ugale passed away suddenly leaving her family, friends and fans shocked and devastated. Over the last couple of days, the ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ actress’ close ones have spoken about her mental health. Now, her friend, Geetanjali, has revealed that the ‘Kumkum ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’ actress had repeatedly spoken about her wish to die for nearly 6 months before she took the plunge. Sanchita Ugale Wanted To Die

During a recent interaction with Telly Talk India, Geetanjali revealed that Sanchita Ugale was depressed and contempleted dying from months. She was quoted saying, “If a person says so many times that they will die by suicide, then it was not sudden. For six months she had been saying that she wanted to die, that she did not want to live.”

Geetanjali – while stating Sanchita had been struggling with depression since the beginning of the year, added, “She was depressed, of course. I think this began in January.” During the same conversation, Geetanjali also claimed that the actor would sometimes remain awake for days at a stretch. She noted, “She would go without sleeping for five days at a stretch.”

While stating that she’s not sure what actually triggered Sanchita Ugale to take the drastic step, Geetanjali said she sensed the actress was dealing with some kind of trauma. She noted that Sanchita also showed signs of losing interest in work despite landing the lead role in the show.

Sunita: What Kind Of Life Is This? It Feels Very Torturous

Geetanjali also noted Sanchita saying she no longer felt emotionally invested in her work after returning from a shoot in Gujarat. She shared, “She told me that her heart was not in it.” When Geetanjali tried to encourage Sanchita by reminding her of the opportunity, the actor allegedly replied, “No, I do not feel good about anything. What kind of life is this? It feels very torturous to me.”

She also dismissed rumours that Sanchita had a tiff with the production house. In fact, Geetanjali claimed the production house took her to several doctors to understand her condition. Geetanjali’s claims corroborate the actor’s father’s statement that she had been suffering from depression.

Stressing the gravity of the situation, Geetanjali said she is ready to share their personal messages to help in the investigation. However, she hopes they are treated with dignity and not turned into social media content.

Sanchita Ugale gained fame as Diya Tandon in the TV serial Kumkum Bhagya. Aside from this show, Sanchita also starred in Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kisse, followed by a lead role in Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi. Sanchita also featured in a couple of films, including portraying the younger version of Tara Rani in the historical drama Chhaava. She also shared the screen with Manoj Bajpayee in the investigative thriller Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout.

Her last Instagram post – shared a few hours before her death, saw her appear happy and chirpy. In the video post, she was seen dancing to the Student of the Year hit track Radha. The video is currently being widely circulated on social media by her fans.

According to police officials, Sanchita Ugale passed away on June 14 at her residence in Sai Santoshi Building in Achole Village, Nalasopara East. Assistant Police Inspector Vinod Bagh said that Sanchita had locked herself inside her bedroom and allegedly hanged herself from a ceiling fan using a saree. The sad incident took place between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm.
