The trailer of The Family Man 2 released a few days back and it got an overwhelming response from all across the country. The show is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 4. Ahead of its release, the show got embroiled in controversy as many took offense at the portrayal of Tamilians in The Family Man 2. Rajya Sabha MP Vaiko wrote a letter of complaint to Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar, against the web series, seeking a ban on it. In the letter, he wrote that in the trailer, the Tamilians are shown as terrorists and ISI agents having links with Pakistan. Also, earlier, Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Founder Seeman demanded the ban on it as he alleged that it shows Tamils and the Liberation Tiger for Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as terrorists.

Now, the director duo of The Family Man 2, Raj and DK have issued a statement where they wrote that “some assumptions and impressions have been made based on just a couple of shots in the trailer”.

It further read: “Many of our lead cast members, as well as key members of the creative & writing team, are Tamilians. We are very cognizant of the sentiments of the Tamil people and Tamil culture and have nothing but the utmost love and respect towards our Tamil people. We have put in years of hard work into this show, and we have taken great pains to bring to our audiences a sensitive, balanced, and riveting story – much like we did in Season 1 of the show.”
