Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya recently shared that his son, Jay Bhattacharya, is stranded in Dubai due to the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict. He described this as a ‘distressing’ time for his family and appealed to the Indian government and the Ministry of External Affairs to facilitate his son’s safe return. Several Indian celebrities, including Sonal Chauhan and Esha Gupta, found themselves stranded in Dubai amid the escalating Middle East tensions following the US and Israel’s preemptive strikes on Iran. The Dubai airport was shut down, causing widespread travel disruptions and leaving many people, including these celebrities, stuck.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya took to Instagram to express his concerns, writing, “My son Jay Bhattacharya is currently stuck in Dubai, and as a father, this is an incredibly distressing time for our family.” He urged authorities to intervene and help bring his son back to India, stating, “We are hoping for your urgent support and intervention. Please help bring him home safely.”

Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan Return To India

Meanwhile, Esha Gupta was also stranded in Abu Dhabi during the crisis. She was fortunate to be on the first commercial flight from Abu Dhabi to Delhi on March 2, after the Abu Dhabi airport shut down on February 28. Upon returning to India, she shared a heartfelt note about the ordeal, thanking everyone for their prayers and support, and acknowledging how challenging the situation was. She described it as a blessing to be safe.

Sonal Chauhan, who was stuck in Dubai amid the Iran-Israel tensions and resulting travel disruptions, has now safely returned to India. She shared an emotional message on social media, calling the past few days “challenging” but expressing gratitude for the love and prayers she received. Sonal also thanked Dubai authorities for maintaining calm and safety during the crisis, emphasising that war is never the answer and praying for peace.

What Is Going On In UAE?

The airspace shutdown in the UAE was a consequence of the recent attacks. After the US and Israel targeted Iran on February 28, Iran responded with missile and drone strikes on US military sites and allied nations in the Gulf, including the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. This led to temporary closures and restrictions in Gulf airspace, causing significant flight cancellations and delays.
