EXCLUSIVE: Adarsh Gourav recalls working with the ‘amazing’ Priyanka Chopra in The White Tiger: It’s a privilege to call her my friend

Adarsh Gourav is one of the most talented actors in the industry. He recently delivered a terrific performance in Raj & DK’s Guns & Gulaabs. Guns & Gulaabs marked his reunion onscreen with RajKummar Rao. The actors were earlier seen together in The White Tiger. The Ramin Bahrani directorial also starred Priyanka Chopra as RajKummar’s wife. Now, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Adarsh Gourav opened up about how The White Tiger changed his life and working with Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Adarsh reveals The White Tiger changed his life

Adarsh said, “It (The White Tiger) changed my life. It gave me a new lease of life as an actor. It made me get access to the kind of producers, filmmakers, writers that probably didn’t know about me. I’m so thankful for Ramin for making that film and for placing faith in me to play Balram.” He further stated that The White Tiger opened doors for him to work with directors like Reema Kagti and Raj & DK.

Adarsh talks about working with Priyanka

Furthermore, Adarsh Gourav spoke about working with Priyanka Chopra and said, “She’s amazing. We actually come from the same hometown as well. She was born in Jamshedpur and I grew up there. It was such a privilege to know her because we all know her as an incredible actor but to sort of be around her on a set and to see how she treats people who work with her, her staff and assistants, it’s so humbling and she’s so grounded and you see why she’s so successful.”

The actor added, “While growing up, I used to read about a lot of artists who were like great artists but not necessarily great people but when I worked with Priyanka and Raj, I realised that you can still be a good person and be a great artist. I’m so fortunate to have worked with her and I got to know her in a personal capacity as well. I’m feeling very privileged to call them my colleagues and to some extent my friends as well. And I’m really lucky.”

The White Tiger starring Priyanka, RajKummar and Adarsh was released on Netflix in 2021.
