Ahan Shetty REACTS To Being Compared With Saiyaara Star Ahaan Panday; States, “We’re Being Put Against Each Other”

Ahan Shetty has spoken openly about his ‘competition’ with Ahaan Panday and other actors from their generation. As he prepares for his return to the big screen with Border 2, Ahan addressed the evolving landscape of the Hindi film industry, emphasising that social media often creates unnecessary rivalries among actors, even though there is no real competition.

Ahan Shetty Breaks Silence On Comparisons With Ahaan Panday

In an interview with Bombay Times, Ahan mentioned that he is frequently compared to Ahaan Panday, a young actor who made a successful debut with Saiyaara. He explained, “Today, people react to just a 2-3 second clip. That’s what’s happening with my generation. We’re being put against each other. I know there are comparisons between Ahaan Panday and me, but I also know how hard he’s worked for his film and everything he’s done to prepare. There’s no rivalry between us. We have our own careers, and there’s a lot of love and respect between us. That’s what should come out. We’re all part of one industry. Social media has created a divide, which is why you don’t see much support among peers.”

Ahan On Nepotism

Regarding nepotism, Ahan reflected on his journey since debuting with Tadap in 2021, which earned Rs 35 crore against a budget of Rs 27 crore. As the son of veteran actor Suniel Shetty, he faced criticism related to industry nepotism. He shared, “It’s been a long journey since Tadap. It hasn’t been easy. The nepotism debate comes up often. I’ve accepted it. My father is an actor, and I wanted to be an actor too. It’s important to stay focused on what you want and not let the noise distract you. I concentrate on giving my director and producer my best, 200 percent.”
