Farah Khan Confirms Her Directorial Comeback With ONLY Shah Rukh Khan; States, “Otherwise, I Will Wait”

Farah Khan has announced she plans to return to directing by the end of this year, revealing that she will only make her next film if her dear friend and superstar Shah Rukh Khan stars in it. Jokingly, she added that if not, she’s happy continuing her YouTube journey for now. The filmmaker, known for her unique and quirky style, has long been missed in Bollywood’s director’s chair, as audiences eagerly await her signature big-screen spectacle.

During a candid chat on her latest vlog, she hinted at her next project, which involves none other than Shah Rukh Khan.

The conversation took a nostalgic turn when actor Nakuul Mehta visited her Mumbai home. Nakuul expressed how much he missed the kind of films Farah is famous for. Responding to this, Farah said, “Abhi banaungi main! Abhi bachche chaley jayenge na college, phir banaungi! There’s even a petition online called ‘Wapas Aao Farah Khan’ — I think it’s time. End of this year, I’ll start.”

She humorously addressed her growing popularity as a YouTuber, stating she isn’t quitting the platform anytime soon because it helps pay her children’s school fees. However, when Nakuul jokingly asked if YouTube would produce her next film, Farah clarified her condition: “If I do (direct a film), I will do it with Shah Rukh! Otherwise, I’ll wait and do YouTube.”

This statement has sparked speculation about a potential reunion between Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan. The duo has a long history of successful collaborations, beginning with her directorial debut Main Hoon Na (2004). It starred SRK and became a massive hit. They teamed up again for Om Shanti Om (2007). Its known for its memorable music, meta storytelling, and grandeur. Their partnership also produced Happy New Year (2014), which, despite mixed reviews, performed well at the box office. Farah’s films are celebrated for their perfect blend of spectacle, humor, music, and emotion.

Though there’s no official confirmation yet, Farah’s comments strongly hint that Shah Rukh Khan remains her top choice for her comeback project. Fans may soon witness the reunion of this legendary actor-director duo on the big screen.
