Aishwarya Rai Bachchan touches Rajinikanth’s feet at Ponniyin Selvan trailer launch event, Watch VIRAL video

On September 6, the trailer and music launch event of Ponniyin Selvan 1 was a grand one. Tamil superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were the chief guests. Ponniyin Selvan cast including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Sobhita Dhulipala and the film’s director Mani Ratnam were present at the event. A video has gone viral on social media where Aishwarya was seen touching Rajinikanth’s feet to seek blessings. The actress was in a black ensemble and she looked gorgeous in it. Well, the gesture of Aish towards her Robot co-star has left netizens impressed.

The Guru actress was also seen running to meet Mani Ratnam who is also her mentor. She hugged him too. PS is Aishwarya and Mani Ratnam’s third collaboration after Guru and Raavan.

At the event, Aishwarya called Mani Ratnam her ‘guru’. She said, “Mani Ratnam is my guru and he will always be my guru…Forever. I started my journey with him with Iruvar and thanks for the honour yet again. This film will he forever memorable. Thank you Suhasini for being there for me always. It is a dream moment to sit together with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays Queen Nandini. She will be seen in a double role. She is also playing Mandakini Devi.

The historical drama is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan. It is produced under the banners, Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. PS-1 will release in theatres on September 30, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
