Kajol launched the trailer of her upcoming film ‘Helicopter Eela‘ yesterday which also happened to be her 44th birthday. While the trailer was lauded by many, the film which sees the actress playing a mother who starts studying at her teen son’s college, found itself in trouble very soon. National Film Award-winning lyricist and writer, Varun Grover, who recently worked on Netflix web-series ‘Sacred Games’, called out the maker of the film for not crediting lyricist Swanand Kirkire.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Varun shared a picture of the end-credits of the trailer and wrote,”This new film’s trailer is cut mostly on songs. They have credited everybody in the title-plate at the end EXCEPT the lyrics writer(s) (including Swanand Kirkire). All you need to know how dispensable they think we are. Shameful.”

A few hours later, when Grover’s tweet came to Ajay Devgn’s notice, the co-producer of ‘Helicopter Eela’, he immediately apologised for the same. Promising that they would rectify their mistake soon, the ‘Singham’ actor wrote, “We accidentally missed out @swanandkirkire’s name as a lyricist from Helicopter Eela trailer. Apologies, rectifying it.”

We are glad that Ajay Devgn was quick to issue a statement, considering it was a huge blooper from their end. Anyway, now that everything is sorted, we hope that the film ‘Helicopter Eela’ directed by Pradeep Sarkar does not fall prey to any controversy.
