For cinema lovers who had been waiting for the high-budget action movies to release in theatres, here’s some disappointing news. Due to the rise in COVID 19 cases throughout the country, especially Maharashtra, the filmmakers are yet again forced to push the release date of their films. After Chehre, reports suggest that Rohit Shetty directorial Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will be pushed again. While there is no confirmation on the same as yet, the decision is likely to be taken soon. After getting pushed last year due to the lockdown, the cast had announced that Sooryavanshi will finally release in theatres on April 30.

Now a month from release, the COVID situation in the country is worsening. Keeping that in mind, as Maharashtra is contemplating a lockdown yet again, filmmakers will be forced to push films again. The cast had recently announced the new release date of the film with a dramatic video where they acknowledged that they will “fulfil their commitment” of seeing them in the theatres.

Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Bunty Aur Babli 2 also has been pushed for the same reason. The first big movie to release post the lockdown was Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Varun Sharma’s Roohi which despite the restrictions did decently at the box office. Post that, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Saina, and Mumbai Saga saw their releases and succumbed to the pressure at BO.
