Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Rajkummar Rao, Sonu Sood and others to come together for UN’s special music video

Ahead of World’s Environment Day on June 5,  Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Bhumi Pednekar, Rajkummar Rao, Sonu Sood, Arjun Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu and others have decided to come together for UN’s special music video. These B-Town celebs have taken it upon themselves to deliver an important message regarding the environment to their fans and the rest of the nation. The initiative has been supported by the United Nations and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Environmentalist. Green crusader Asif Bhamla told Mid-Day about the music video, “Since their theme is ecosystem restoration this year, the music video focuses on how we need to rejuvenate the planet, the way our forefathers did for us.”

The report further stated that the song will drop on June 5 and it is composed by Shaan while Swanand Kirkire has penned the lyrics. Singers like B Praak, Adnan Sami, Shankar Mahadevan, Palak Muchhal among others have lent their voices to the song.

Talking about why Bollywood celebs have been approached for this video, Bhamla said, “Bollywood celebrities are role models. Arjun, Taapsee, Bhumi, Rajkummar, Shilpa and Sonu Sood are part of the song bytes. We also have leaders from other walks of life, including Sachin Tendulkar, Manish Malhotra, and Faye D’Souza, as well as senior heads of the United Nations Environment Programme [UNEP].”

He also shared that UNEP had decided to drop the teaser on May 31 which is tomorrow.
