There were reports that Sooryavanshi might release in both OTT and theatres simultaneously. But nothing was confirmed. It is slated to release on April 2 in theatres. Now, as per a report in Bollywood Hungama, Sooryavanshi will release only in single screens and non-national multiplexes across the country.

The portal quoted a source saying that the makers of Sooryavanshi are wanting to capitalize on the theatres opening up, and they have decided to release the film in only single screens and non-national multiplexes. While talking about the impact of this release pattern, the source said, “This move essentially means that the film will not release in big nationwide multiplex chains like PVR, Carnival, INOX and others, but will focus on grassroot level cinemas to reach the masses.”

Well, this decision by the makers to release Sooryavanshi in single screens theatres and non-national multiplexes will affect national multiplex chains like PVR, INOX, CINEPOLIS and Carnival. Let’s see how much the movie earns by this decision.

Earlier, SpotboyE’s report stated, “Discussions are on and movie theatres may be allowed to release Sooryavanshi 24 hours ahead of the digital platform, or something similar where the two platforms get breathing space between each other.”

Sooryavanshi stars Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and others. Sooryavanshi’s announcement was made in the closing credits of Simmba and since then fans are waiting with bated breath for the movie to release. It was earlier scheduled to release on March 24, 2020. But due to the Coronavirus pandemic followed by the lockdown, the release date was postponed. After Singham, Singham Returns and Simmba, Sooryavanshi is the 4th instalment in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe.
