Alia Bhatt asked Sanjay Leela Bhansali about ‘Kalank’ and his reaction will blow your mind!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for making meaningful and content-driven cinema. The seasoned filmmaker relies on his gut and likes to improvise while making his larger than life projects. Bhansali’s next project will star Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt in ‘Inshallah’. Now, Alia Bhatt has made an interesting revelation when she asked SLB what he thought of ‘Kalank’. Yes, you have read it right!

Alia Bhatt, while promoting ‘Kalank’ on 94.3 radio show, talked about how ‘Kalank’ quite closely resembles with the theme of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films.

The ‘Udta Punjab’ actress made a reference to ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’ song. She said, “Yes, it’s more Bhansali like but actually, technically speaking, no one has really touched that world except for Sanjay Leela Bhansali. And Abhishek (director of ‘Kalank’) himself is a very big self-proclaimed, self-confessed fan. So he is very inspired by him. Even when I met Sanjay sir I told him please tell me what do you think about the teaser and he really liked it.”

Karan Johar’s magnum opus ‘Kalank’ features a heavyweight line-up.

She further added, “No, no he was very encouraging and honestly, he also understands that even though people are telling (comparing), he has a world of his own. It’s his world… so that was very kind, a magnanimous thing.”

So, it shows SLB’s generosity and it is so good to see filmmakers appreciating each other’s work. For the record, ‘Kalank’ is doing quite well at the box-office and has so far done business worth Rs 44.65 crore.
