About Alpha & Its Trailer
The trailer of Alpha earlier introduced Alia as Sita, a highly trained assassin who has been raised to kill. She is shown taking on her mentor-turned-enemy, played by Bobby Deol, who is the film’s main antagonist. Sharvari is seen joining Sita on a mission, though details about her role have largely been kept under wraps. Anil Kapoor, who was introduced earlier as RAW chief Vikrant Kaul in War 2, is also shown and is hinted to have a link to the Alpha programme.
The trailer also uses Ramayana references, with Alia’s character describing herself as a modern-day Sita who is determined to burn Lanka herself and is ready for an agnipariksha. Alpha is the seventh film in YRF’s spy universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, Tiger 3, War, War 2, and Pathaan. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is set to release in theatres on July 3.
