India's Got Latent 2 's FIRST Episode Gets 45 Million Views On YouTube, 2.2 Million On OTT

Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent has achieved remarkable success on YouTube, with 45 million views within just four days of its release. The episode, which premiered simultaneously on YouTube and Netflix on June 21, marked a historic moment as the first title available for streaming on both a free platform and a paid one.

India’s Got Latent 2 ‘s FIRST Episode Gets 45 Million Views On YouTube, 2.2 Million On OTT

As reported by the Indian Express, the viewership numbers reveal a significant disparity: YouTube garnered approximately 45 million views, while Netflix’s official Tudum data reports only 2.2 million views, making up less than 5% of the total. It’s important to note that Netflix calculates views based on “total hours viewed divided by runtime,” which may not directly equate to the number of individual viewers.

The episode featured Alia Bhatt and Sharvari promoting their upcoming YRF film Alpha. India’s Got Latent Season 2 is set to be a weekly show. It is similar to The Great Indian Kapil Show, although that show has been experiencing declining ratings. Previously, Season 4 premiered in December 2025 and featured Priyanka Chopra. It drew around 1.5 million views according to Ormax Media.

IGL’s Viewership

Historically, Season 1 of India’s Got Latent was exclusively on YouTube and averaged 20-25 million views per episode. It quickly gained popularity. Samay Raina also released a stand-up special, Still Alive, on YouTube earlier this year. It became the most-watched comedy special globally on the platform, with 22 million views in the first 24 hours. The total was 65 million views after two months.

IGL Controversy

The controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent in 2025 involved a joke by Ranveer Allahbadia that was perceived as obscene. This led to FIRs and the removal of all Season 1 episodes from YouTube by Samay Raina. Despite the controversy, the new season’s debut on both platforms has generated massive attention, especially on YouTube.
