Ameesha Patel Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli has once again found himself at the centre of social media chatter, this time over a simple Instagram ‘like.’ The cricketer, who commands a massive online following, often sees even minor digital activity spark widespread discussion. Recently, fans noticed that he had liked a post featuring German model Liz Laz, and the interaction quickly went viral. While Kohli has not addressed the latest buzz, the incident has drawn reactions from across the internet, including from actor Ameesha Patel.

Ameesha Patel Defends Virat Kohli Liking German Vlogger’s Post

The post in question featured Liz Laz and was originally shared by photographer Advait in January with the caption, “Some golden hour shots.” Although the like appeared much later, eagle-eyed users picked up on it and amplified it across platforms, turning it into a trending topic within hours.

Soon after, Ameesha Patel reacted to the controversy when paparazzi asked her about it during a public appearance in Mumbai. Initially surprised, she questioned the outrage and defended the cricketer’s right to engage freely on social media. She said, “Like karna kuch paap hai kya? Unki life, unka Instagram, unki marzi. Logon ko bas troll karna hi aata hai. Aur koi kaam dhanda hi nahi hai. Acchi baat hai kisi ke acche kaam ko like karna. Troll karna paap hai, kisi ko like karna nahi.”

Virat Kohli Accidently ‘Likes’ Avneet Kaur’s Pics Last Year

Interestingly, this is not the first time Kohli’s Instagram activity has made headlines. Last year, his ‘like’ on a post by Avneet Kaur also triggered similar speculation. At the time, Kohli addressed the situation and clarified that the interaction was unintentional. He wrote, “I’d like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding.”

The earlier incident even worked in Avneet’s favour, as she reportedly gained a significant spike in followers and brand deals following the viral moment.

As for the current situation, Virat Kohli has not issued any statement. Notably, he has since unliked the post. However, the episode once again highlights how even the smallest online actions by high-profile figures can quickly spiral into widespread conversations.
