According to news agency PTI, “Bachchan sir is playing himself in the film. He will be seen as a megastar and the role is about 15-minutes-long,” producer Akshay Bardapurkar said.

Bardapurkar said it was Gokhale who recommended Bachchan’s name for the film. “We narrated the story to Mr Gokhale first and it was him who suggested that Mr Bachchan would be suitable for a role like this (of a star). “He made the call to him and that’s when we went and met Bachchan sir and he immediately agreed to be a part of our film.”

Bardapurkar further added and said that Amitabh and Vikram will be seen as childhood friends. He also said, “AB stands for Amitabh Bachchan and CD for Gokhale’s character, who is called Chandrakant Deshpande.”

“It was a dream when this project came in our hands like a blessing”, Akshay added further. Interestingly Big B will be seen in a Marathi film after 25 years alongwith Vikram Gokhale. The film is a light family comedy that boasts of a terrific ensemble of actors like Subodh Bhave, Sayali Sanjeev, Akshay Tanksale, Seema Deshmukh and others. The film is slotted to be released in November 2019.

Amitabh Bachchan also has Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Brahmastra’ under his belt. The Ayan Mukerji directorial was supposed to release in December this year but now it will be releasing during the summer of 2020.
