The Bollywood icon praised the 15-year-old batter after Rajasthan Royals’ IPL 2026 campaign came to an end on Friday night. Despite the team’s defeat, Sooryavanshi’s performance earned widespread appreciation from fans and cricket lovers alike.

For the unversed, Rajasthan Royals were knocked out of IPL 2026 after losing Qualifier 2 to Gujarat Titans. The defeat ended RR’s title hopes, while Gujarat Titans advanced to the final, where they will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday.

Soon after the match, Amitabh Bachchan took to X to applaud the young cricketer. Sharing his admiration for Sooryavanshi’s talent at such a young age, the actor wrote in Hindi, “Sooryavanshi — The amazing 15-year-old Soorya. At that age, I couldn’t even play marbles or gulli danda properly!!”

But the only regret about Rajasthan Royals losing today is that we won’t get to see another innings from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.” Another commented, “Sir Gulli Danda is the mother of cricket. According to ANI, Sooryavanshi produced one of the standout knocks of the season, scoring 96 runs off just 47 deliveries in yesterday’s match. However, his efforts were not enough to take Rajasthan Royals into the final. Following the loss, cameras captured the youngster sitting in the dugout looking visibly emotional as support staff attempted to console him. Clips of the moment soon went viral on social media, with fans praising both his talent and fighting spirit.

Although Rajasthan Royals’ journey ended one step short of the final, Sooryavanshi emerged as one of the biggest discoveries of IPL 2026. His fearless batting and maturity under pressure have already made him one of Indian cricket’s most talked-about young talents.
