Amruta Khanvilkar Threatens Legal Action Over Rumours Of Separation From Himanshu Malhotra; Calls Them, “Baseless And Defamatory”

A couple of days ago, reports pertaining to actress Amruta Khanvilkar’s personal life. As per those reports, the actress’ marriage to actor Himanshu Malhotra was in trouble. The claims stated that the couple was living separately for over a year. The ‘Malang’ actress has now taken a stand against the media reports, issuing a legal notice warning publications and all social networking sites against indulging in the circulation of defamatory information regarding their personal life.

Earlier today, August 10, the actress’ legal team took to social media and issued a statement stating that Amruta will initiate legal action against reports concerning her personal life and marriage to actor Himanshu Malhotra. Read on to see her complete statement.

The statement – issued by the actress’ legal team cautioning everyone against publishing or circulating ‘baseless’ content about their client’s personal life, read, “It has come to our attention that certain online, social media and digital platforms are circulating content concerning Ms. Amruta Khanvilkar and her personal life, which is baseless, defamatory and/or in violation of her privacy.”

It further read,“While the right to freedom of expression is respected, any misuse of such freedom to publish, circulate or share defamatory statements, rumours, unverified allegations or misleading information concerning Ms. Amruta Khanvilkar will be taken seriously.”

The actress’ legal team noted, “Wherever supported by available evidence, appropriate legal action will be initiated against the individuals, entities or organisations responsible for creating, publishing, circulating or sharing such content, in accordance with applicable law. All such instances are being monitored and documented for appropriate legal recourse. – Legal Team Ms. Amruta Khanvilkar.”
