Anil Kapoor and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap got into a Twitter spat pointing each other’s career. It all started when Anil praised Shefali Shah’s for ‘Delhi Crime’ bagging the Emmy Award recently. Anurag retweeted Anil’s tweet and hilariously trolled him. Anil clapped back Anurag with a really witty reply. It didn’t stop and their banter continued.

Anil’s tweet on Shefali read: “I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again because they absolutely deserve it! Congratulations to the #DelhiCrime team! Nice to finally see more of our people get international recognition. @ShefaliShah_ #WelcomeToHollywood.” Anurag retweeted it and wrote, “Nice to see some deserving people get international recognition. Waise, aapka Oscar kidhar hain? No? Achha… nomination?”

Anil replied to Anurag’s tweet and wrote, “The closest you have come to an Oscar is watching Slumdog Millionaire win Oscars on TV. #TumseNaHoPayega.” Anurag hit back saying, “Says the k-k-k-ing of hand-me-down films. Weren’t you the second choice for this film also?”

Anil again tweeted back, “Hand-me-down or pick-me-up: I don’t care. Work is work. Tumhare jaise kaam dhoondte waqt baal toh nahi nochne padte. #actorlife.” To which Anurag replied, “Sir, you don’t talk about hair. Aapko toh apne baal ke dum pe roles milte hain. #BaalBaalBaloo #TheJungleLife.”

This is how their Twitter banter continued and when Anurag took a dig at ‘Race 3’, Anil tweeted, “#neverforget Bombay velvet Box Office Returns = 43 Crores Race 3 Box Office Returns = 300 Crores”.

Anurag replied posting an old picture of Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Vidhu Vinod Chopra and wrote, “Theek hai sir #Goodbye #DontCry”. Anil replied, “The only reason why I’m crying is because I agreed to do this film with you. But don’t worry, I’m going to have the last laugh. #gameon”.

For the unversed, Anurag and Anil have come together for a Netflix’s film ‘AK vs AK’ in which Anil is playing an actor and Anurag is playing a director. The film has been directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. So, this banter might be for the promotion of their upcoming movie.
