Anurag Kashyap undergoes angioplasty after mild chest pain

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had mild chest pain last week and he was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. The AK vs AK director underwent an angioplasty as per reports. He is currently at home and recovering.

A source told Mid-Day, “Late last week, Anurag complained of discomfort and decided to get it checked at the earliest. Angiography revealed a few blockages in his heart. He was immediately admitted for surgery.” The source also said that Anurag is advised to rest for a week before getting back to work. When the publication spoke to his spokesperson, he said, “Yes, he underwent an angioplasty. He is now recuperating.”

On the work front, Anurag is reuniting with actress Taapsee Pannu after Manmarziyaan. Taapsee and Anurag collaborated for sci-fi thriller Dobaaraa. After wrapping up the film in March, Anurag was busy working on the film’s post-production from his home in Mumbai. The film also stars Pavail Gulati in the lead role.

Anurag was last seen with Anil Kapoor in Vikramaditya Motwane’s AK vs AK, which released on Netflix last year. Kashyap was the executive producer and he also penned the dialogues of the film. The film received rave reviews.

Recently, Anurag was in the news when his daughter Aaliyah Kashyap opened up about her bond with her parents. She is one of the most talked-about star kids in Bollywood. More often she opens up about mental health issues. She also posts videos where she opens up about dealing with depression, anxiety and panic attacks.
