Arshad Warsi Recalls Fun Moments With ‘Short Circuit’ Vir Hirani During Munna Bhai MBBS Shoot; Jokes, “Jab Tak Usko Paise Nahin Diye…”

The trailer launch of Pritam And Pedro earlier today in Mumbai turned into a nostalgic and entertaining affair as filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, actors Arshad Warsi, Vikrant Massey, Vir Hirani, Mona Singh, music director Shantanu Moitra, lyricist Swanand Kirkire, and director Avinash Arun came together to unveil the upcoming web series. Towards the end of the launch, singer Shreya Ghoshal made a surprise appearance and performed the song Piya Piya Piya.

‘Short Circuit’ Vir Hirani In Pritam And Pedro

However, one of the biggest highlights of the evening came when Arshad Warsi and Vir Hirani recreated memories from Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Audiences were reminded that Vir Hirani, son of filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, had earlier appeared as Short Circuit, the son of Circuit, in the film’s epilogue sequence alongside Arshad.

As their old picture from the blockbuster flashed on screen, Arshad got emotional while recalling the memory. He said, “A lot of emotions come into my mind. At that time, we never imagined that we would be here 20 years later and acting together.”

In his signature comic style, Arshad then joked about Vir’s childhood professionalism on set. “One thing I noticed and Raju would back me up on it. We could sense even then that Vir was going to be an actor. Woh pata chalta tha kyunki jab tak usko paise nahin diye, usne shot nahin diya!”

Vir Hirani joined in on the banter and quipped, “Mere ko paise iss baar bhi nahin mile!” and the audience burst into laughter.

Rajkumar Hirani Recalls Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.

Rajkumar Hirani also reflected on how audience viewing habits have changed dramatically since the release of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. in 2003. “My first film, Munna Bhai MBBS, was released in December 2003. That was the time when films used to be released in theatres. We used to be worried whether people’s mobile phones might start ringing when they come to see our film on the big screen.”

He further added how streaming and mobile viewing have changed filmmaking concerns today. “Now the difference is that people consume films on the small screen, of 6 inches. And now we filmmakers wonder if some notification would pop up that would distract the viewer!”

Pritam And Pedro explores the growing dangers of cybercrime and digital fraud through a thriller-driven narrative. The series brings together an ensemble cast featuring Arshad Warsi, Vikrant Massey, Mona Singh and Vir Hirani.
