Ashoke Pandit REACTS To Ram Gopal Varma’s Tweet Of Banning FWICE Amid Ranveer Singh’s Don 3 Exit Row; Says, “He Should Apologise”

Ram Gopal Varma criticised the cine body FWICE over its non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh, calling the organization ‘outdated’ and accusing it of trying to cling to its influence within the film industry. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had recently issued the directive following Ranveer Singh’s exit from Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, a project that had been in development for three years. In response to RGV’s comments, FWICE’s Ashoke Pandit stated that the filmmaker should apologize.

Ashoke Pandit REACTS To Ram Gopal Varma’s Tweet To Ban FWICE

Ashoke Pandit responded to Ram Gopal Varma’s tweets, “It is there, so it is very important for the entire country and the entire industry through you. Thank you very much for communicating our achievements to the people. He is one of the brilliant filmmakers of this country, and with due respect to him, in a democracy, we would like to tell the world today that Ram Gopal Varma owes more than Rs 1 crore 5 lakh to technicians, workers, and others.”

Ashoke Reads RGV’s Letter

Ashoke read RGV’s letter, “This is the letter that his company issued, and it bears his signature. Respected sir, our company is a film production house based in Andheri West. And we are in the business of producing full-length feature films. This letter is dated 13 June 2019. We had produced a feature film titled Officer, starring actor Nagarjuna and others. For the same, we had outstanding payments to be made to Federation-associated members and other vendors. The entire payout list has been submitted to the Federation.”

He continued, “We understand that it has been almost 10 months since these payments have remained outstanding. And we are fully aware of and accountable for each and every due payment. We sincerely appreciate and respect the support extended by the Federation in providing us additional time. We hereby request a final timeline by which we shall make the entire outstanding payment to the Federation and other respective vendors.”

Ashoke continued, “We request you to provide us a final deadline until 4 March 2019 to clear the entire payout list. We hereby confirm and assure you that this final deadline shall be met, failing which we are open to any action deemed fit by FWICE. We have abided by the Federation guidelines and have not conducted any shooting from our production house until these dues are cleared.“

He added, “We again assure you that we shall fully comply with all regulations imposed upon us by FWICE and shall remain committed to the above-mentioned final date. We once again request you to bear with us for just a few more days. By 4 March 2019, we shall clear each and every due. We look forward to your unconditional support. Yours sincerely, Ram Gopal Varma.”

Ashoke Pandir Asks Ram Gopal Varma To Apologise

Pandit concluded the press conference, “With due respect, that money has not come to us. From 2019 to 2026, not a single rupee has come to the technicians. And he expects us to lift the ban. We take strong objection to Ram ji. With due respect to him, he should apologise to the Federation for using inappropriate words regarding the ban and for abusing us, who work day in and day out to ensure that more than four-and-a-half lakh workers and technicians are able to work and complete films. I am sure he will understand this. And while speaking again after listening to this, he should keep these things in mind. We believe in respecting each other. That is what we wanted to say.”
