Bappi Lahiri will always remain in our hearts. The nation woke up with the shocking news about the death of the singing legend. He breathed his last on Tuesday night at a Mumbai hospital. The singer was 69. Known as the ‘Disco King’, Bappi Da was loved for his iconic music. He was popular in the 80s and 90s for his music and songs. And with his passing, the singing icon leaves a legacy behind. As fans mourn his demise, we came across an old interview of the singer where he once shared whom he would love to see playing his younger self in his biopic.

Speaking with IANS in 2019, Bappi Da had shared that he was approached for a movie based on his life. He had revealed that he was approached for a biopic on several occasions but is yet to decide on anything. While talking about whom he would like to see playing his younger version, the late singer had named Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh. And we would agree with the aura that Ranveer carries.

Talking about his biopic, Bappi Lahiri had said, “Yes, a lot of people are approaching me to make a film on my life but I haven’t finalised anything. The biopic should start by this year.” The legendary singer had added, “Actor Ranveer Singh could probably play my younger version…you know the 1970s, 80′ and 90s time.

Meanwhile, Ranveer, who is a self-proclaimed fan of the late singer expressed how heartbroken he is after hearing about the death of Bappi Da. The actor shared some photos of the late singer and dedicated a post to him. He paid a tribute to Bappi Lahiri.

For the unversed, at the 63rd Filmfare Awards and uploaded a picture with Bappi Lahiri too. He had shared the photo on his Instagram and had captioned it “Rock Royalty #bappi (sic).

Bappi Lahiri breathed his last at Mumbai’s Criticare hospital. He died of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The doctors revealed the reason behind the death of Bappi Lahiri after his demise.
