During the shooting of the upcoming film Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, a disturbing incident occurred in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. On August 27, the film’s line producer, Zoheb Solapurwala, was reportedly attacked by a group of locals on Thornhill Road, where the shoot was taking place.

The incident led to a police complaint by BR Chopra Films’ team member Saurabh Tiwari. On August 28, a case was officially filed at the Civil Lines Police Station. According to police, the main accused, Meraj Ali, has been arrested in connection with the assault.
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) strongly condemned the attack. In an official statement released on August 30, the association expressed concern over the safety of film crews working in Uttar Pradesh. AICWA pointed out that the assault happened in broad daylight, in front of the lead actors and the rest of the team, highlighting the lack of proper security.

They questioned the safety of artists, technicians, and producers shooting in the state, especially when such incidents happen despite Uttar Pradesh being promoted as a film-friendly destination with facilities like Noida Film City.

AICWA called the incident disgraceful and said it shows how unsafe film workers can be during outdoor shoots. They urged the government to take strict action to ensure such events do not happen again.
