Dhurandhar Akshaye Khanna Danish Pandor

Even as Dhurandhar The Revenge continues to win all over the box office and dominate social media chatter, fans still can’t get over Akshaye Khanna’s powerful turn as Rehman Dakait in the first instalment. Nearly three decades into his career, the actor has seen a fresh wave of popularity following the film’s release in December last year. From his viral hook step in Fa9la to his scene-stealing presence in Aditya Dhar’s directorial, Akshaye has once again proved his enduring screen command.

Danish Pandor Reacts To Akshaye Khanna Being Called ‘Difficult To Work With’

However, alongside the praise, the actor has long carried a reputation of being ‘difficult,’ something that has made filmmakers cautious over the years. Now, his Dhurandhar co-star, Danish Pandor, who played Uzair Baloch, has addressed these perceptions. Speaking to News18, Danish offered a very different perspective on the actor. “He treats you very nicely. He’s very receptive as a person. It’s true that he doesn’t speak much, but if you ask him anything, he’s very responsive,” he said.

He further added, “It’s not like he says, ‘Oh, I don’t want to speak to you.’ He’s an amazing human being. But yes, there’s a zone that he lives in when he’s on a film set. He always concentrated on his character. When the camera rolls, he becomes that character completely.”

Danish Pandor also revealed an interesting detail about Akshaye’s work style. While it wasn’t difficult for him to break the ice. “He doesn’t even sit with his phone on a set. He sits in a tight corner, not speaking to anyone unless spoken to. He’s an amazing soul. He sits quietly, keeps to himself and thinks about his performance,” he shares.

Danish Pandor On Akshaye Khanna Staying Away From The Spotlight

Despite the renewed fame after Dhurandhar, Akshaye chose to stay away from the spotlight. As the buzz peaked, he retreated to his bungalow in Alibaug, maintaining his distance from the frenzy. Praising this approach, Danish said, “Isn’t that best thing one can do? Things like this keep him grounded. The moment you feel that you’re getting overwhelmed, you should just start taking it easy.”

He also spoke about how the actor handles success and failure with the same calm mindset. “He keeps himself grounded and moves on [to other projects] easily. But he knows everything that goes around on social media. Having said that, I don’t think he’s one of those people who would actively go to social media to see what’s being written or talked about him.”

On the professional front, Akshaye Khanna recently made headlines for stepping away from Drishyam 3 after reports of a remuneration disagreement, with producer Kumar Mangat calling him ‘toxic.’ Yet, going by Danish’s account, the actor remains deeply committed to his craft—choosing focus and privacy over perception.
