Deepika Padukone falls off the list of Forbes’ highest paid actresses 2018

The list of Forbes’ highest paid actresses (from June 1, 2017, to June 1, 2018) of 2018 is out. And much to our displeasure none of our Bollywood actresses are on the list.

According to a report in IANS, Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has been named as the world’s highest paid female actress by Forbes. The 33-year-old actress made $ 40.5 million in pre-tax earnings from June 1, 2017, to June 1, 2018, quadrupling her income from the previous year, reports The Guardian.

Scarlett has beaten actress Angelina Jolie, who ranked second with $28 million and Jennifer Aniston, who came in third with $19.5 million. Scarlett’s total is, however, well below last year’s male equivalent, Mark Wahlberg, who earned $68 million in the 2017 list.  Johansson has played Black Widow in this year’s Marvel movie ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and will be next seen in the 2019 instalment from Walt Disney Co’s Marvel Studios.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, last year thanks to Deepika Padukone‘s Hollywood debut film ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’ and her Bollywood film ‘Padmaavat’, she appeared on the sixth spot in the Forbes’ highest paid actresses list but unfortunately, she fell off the list this year. Even desi girl Priyanka Chopra doesn’t appear on the list.
