Actress Dia Mirza has always been vocal about the need to emphasise on the dangers of climate change. She has actively participated in several environmental preservation initiatives. At Jaipur Literature Festival, Dia broke down into tears while talking during a panel discussion regarding climate change.

The actress was offered paper napkins to wipe her tears, which she politely refused saying, “I don’t need paper”. This led to the netizens trolling the actress and calling her a hypocrite. Wondering why? Well, read on to know the reason.

During the panel discussion, Dia broke down into tears and said, “Don’t hold back from being an empath. Don’t be afraid of shedding your tears. Feel it, feel the full extent of everything. It’s good. It gives us strength. It does. And this is not a performance,”

When offered with napkins to wipe her tears, the ‘Sanju’ actress refused them. Now some applauded Dia for being sensitive and environmentally conscious, however, a certain section of the netizens trolled her by calling ‘Sasti Great Thunberg’ and a hypocrite for travelling by SUV but refusing to use paper napkins.

Later when asked about what made her so emotional, the actress told ANI, “Kobe Bryant’s chopper crashing in California disturbed me. It really upset me. There are different things that upset us on different days, but we take care of ourselves. I was overwhelmed because my blood pressure was low.”
