Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh extended his support to the protesting farmers’ in Delhi. The actor joined the protesting farmers on Saturday and also addressed them. The ‘Udta Punjab’ actor also donated Rs. 1 crore to purchase winter-wear for the protesting farmers.

Diljit also urged the government to fulfil the demands of the farmers who are peacefully protesting against the farm laws.

According to ANI report, Diljit addressed the protesting farmers at Singhu border(Haryana-Delhi border). While addressing the crowd, Diljit said, “We have only one request to Centre..please fulfil the demands of our farmers. Everyone is sitting here peacefully & the entire country is with farmers. This agitation is about farmers. Things are twisted on Twitter but the truth is that farmers are protesting peacefully, nobody is talking about bloodshed here.”

The ‘Soorma’ actor further added, “Hats off to all of you, farmers have created a new history. This history would be narrated to future generations. Farmers’ issues shouldn’t be diverted by anyone.”

Meanwhile, Diljit has quietly donated Rs 1 crore to buy warm clothes for the protesting farmers who are facing the harsh winter. Punjabi singer Singaa confirmed the news via his Instagram stories.

Thanking Diljit, Singaa said, “Thank you brother, you gave Rs 1 crore for the farmers, for their warm clothes, and nobody knows. You didn’t post about it. Nowadays people can’t shut up after donating Rs 10.”

Previously, Diljit had engaged in a war of words with Kangana Ranaut on Twitter. He had slammed the actress for diverting everyone’s attention and calling names to the elderly protesting women. Diljit was hailed by the Twitterati for standing up against Kangana.
