You have Jugaadistan all set to release soon, any highlights from your time on the sets and while working with the cast?

I think I learned a lot. I ended up understanding the process, with the way they had a different approach with the roles, much more. Because sometimes when you observe, you end up learning much more in the process, when you act with other actors. And, I think, they all had great energy, such great comic timing. They have such great timing of delivering a dialogue, owning a scene. Highlights were definitely the team, the people who we were surrounded by. And about directors- Akarsh Khurana, Adhaar Khurana, I think, they are great to work with and I thoroughly enjoyed the process and the team they got together. The highlights are that, a great fun experience.

What kind of content are you looking forward to when it comes to working on OTT?

The idea is to do good content. There’s no specific content. Be it films or OTT. And OTT having so much potential already, like we’ve seen it in the lockdown. The idea is to connect to the audience what is watching OTT, so definitely we end up giving them what they want. At the end of it, it is to reach the audience and if the medium is OTT.

Is there any specific genre that you would like to try when it comes to OTT?

I definitely want to do a suspense drama. I would like to do something like thriller suspense. That’s a genre I’m really fond of. That’s a genre I have not touched upon. That’s something I’m looking forward to. Because, I think, that genre keeps the audience also very engaged. The audience also likes that, and for me also, it would be a new thing to explore as an actor. But irrespective of that, if there is something that I feel I can give to like a character, then, I would definitely love to be a part of it.

You made your debut with Bhangra Paa Le, the pandemic happened to post that. Are there any Bollywood movies that you are planning to work in?

I think, my journey has just begun now, Bhangra Paa Le was released just before the pandemic, and at that time, it was just about surviving, honestly, for everyone. That’s what we were focusing on. But, I think now, as things are better, now is when the ball starts rolling for me, more than ever.

According to you, what kind of scripts would interest you, if you were to feature in a Bollywood movie.

I want to work on scripts which are commercial but where the audience sees the piece of them in the film. I would love to play a warrior, something historic, something that will definitely challenge me and breaks me from the boundaries that people have kind of. I want to break that an actor is not someone who only gets in as the kind of person they are as an individual. I believe it is more about breaking those boundaries and ending up with something that actually puts you out there. Because everyone sees me in a certain way and that’s an image I want to break.

You are fond of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s work, any filmmaker you would like to work with?

I am very interested in working with new-age directors. I am amazed by the subjects a lot of new directors have been coming up with. So, I would definitely want to work with the new people coming out.

Can you share some details about your upcoming projects?

I have another OTT show coming out. That’s already shot. That will be on one of the OTT platforms as well. And then, I have my South film coming up, which is a Telugu film. Besides that, yes, I am working on something, but I can’t say much about it.

How do you juggle your Hindi projects with the projects from work down South?

I think I just try my best to be in the moment. I am okay working really hard and working long hours, as long as I’m working. For me, there are days when I manage, and there are days when it takes a toll on me. But I think, since I thoroughly enjoy what I do and I absolutely love it. The hectic schedules and running from both the cities makes me feel good.

Something you want to share about Jugaadistan, with your fans?

The show is something that everyone will really relate to. This is a show, when you watch it, you will be able to identify yourself and at least one of the characters. It is a show that is made with a lot of effort and dedication. We wanted to make a show that the audience enjoy and bring them a season 2 if they really like the season 1. We are waiting for the audience to watch it. I’m sure everyone will thoroughly enjoy it.

Any special message you have for your fans out there?

Just need their love and support. That’s what I’ve always wanted, to always appreciate what I’m giving to them. If they have any other thing to say, in which I can improve and get better, for them, I would be welcome to listen to everything. And as long as it makes my presence as an actor better. It is a constant learning.

Jugadistaan releases on March 4. The web series features Sumeet Vyas, Arjun Mathur, Parambrata Chatterjee, Rukshar Dhillon, Taaruk Raina, Gopal Datt, and Ahsaas Channamore.
