shantanu maheshwari, gangubai kathiawadi

Shantanu Maheshwari has been a part of showbiz for a while now. The actor began his career at a very young age in the dance-based fiction show D3: Dil Dosti Dance on Channel V, and won everyone over with his moves as well as his cute looks and charm. Over the years, he has went on to become a heartthrob and his charm has remained intact throughout. Recently, he was seen in the music video of the Navratri special song Kesariyo Rang alongside Avneet Kaur, and the young and energetic duo got into an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble where they divulged some secrets and played a fiercely competitive round of Bollywood Triathlon.

This year, Shantanu Maheshwari made his big Bollywood debut alongside Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film emerged as a critical and commercial success and Shantanu received a lot of love and appreciation from the audiences as well as from within the industry. He admitted that life hasn’t been the same for him after that humongous success and it has taken him ahead in his professional life.

When asked if that success and association with Sanjay and Alia has translated into better offers, he responded, Definitely it has. I think when you are a part of Sanjay sir’s movie, by default everyone sees you in a very different light and that has really helped me and it became easier for me to make people accept the fact that I have other talents as well and I am equally passionate about things. It’s just not that dance based characters ke liye approach kiya jaye, as an individual, as an actor based roles hain, than we (makers) should approach him. (Now it’s not just dance based roles that people approach me for, they consider me for individual, acting based characters as well). So that whole shift of how you see an actor, typecast jo bolte hain, that has shifted and that has really helped me in terms of getting different offers, interesting offers. They take it (the dancing talent) as an X-factor now.”
