Bollywood star Farhan Akhtar performed at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, where he paid tribute to the late singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away at age 92 on April 12. During his concert, Farhan shared a video on social media giving a sneak peek of his performance, and Asha’s granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, expressed her heartfelt appreciation. Fans also praised Farhan’s tribute during the event at Jalandhar University, and Zanai Bhosle responded to the gesture.

On Tuesday, Farhan took to Instagram to post a clip of himself singing Asha Bhosle’s iconic song Dum Maaro Dum from Hare Rama Hare Krishna. The crowd cheered as he paid homage to the legendary singer, with images of Asha Bhosle in the background.

Accompanying the video, Farhan wrote a heartfelt note: “In memory of the legend herself. A glimpse from last night at @lpuuniversity when all of us came together to pay Asha ji a tribute. Unfortunately, the audio recording isn’t the best, but it was incredible to see young students in the thousands show their love and respect for her music. To celebrate her is the best way to remember her.”

Zanai Bhosle responded to the post with a red heart emoji.

Farhan Pens Emotional Note For Asha Ji

Earlier, Farhan shared a post remembering Asha Bhosle after her passing. He wrote, “Every industry is founded on and built around pillars.. those giants who set the gold standard through their talent, their work ethic and their accomplishments. People who unconsciously create legacies and, in turn, inspire innumerable others to follow their dreams. It is impossible to talk about playback singing and not mention Asha Bhosle ji. Her pitch-perfect voice, her joy of singing and her fiery energy were and still remain irreplaceable. Thank you for the decades upon decades of music and memories, Asha ji. Rest in peace.”

Asha Bhosle’s Demise

On April 11, Asha Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital after experiencing cardiac and respiratory issues. The following day, her death shocked the industry. She passed away due to multiple organ failure at the age of 92. Her final rites were held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, where she was cremated with full state honours. Several stars, including Ranveer Singh, Aamir Khan, and Vicky Kaushal, paid their last respects.
