Irrfan Khan passed away today at a Mumbai hospital. The actor was admitted there yesterday for a colon infection. The 53- year old was battling cancer since 2018 and it was confirmed on Tuesday that he was under observation. This shocking news has shaken up Bollywood for sure. Parineeti Chopra, Taapsee Pannu and other Bollywood celebs mourned the actor’s death.

Shoojit Sircar wrote, “My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute.”

Director Gauri Shinde also mourned Irrfan’s death, she posted on Facebook saying, “And the year 2020 just hit rock bottom. What a colossal loss. There is really no one like him. #IrfanKhan has left a void in our cinema and in our hearts.”

Amitabh Bachchan mourned as he tweeted, ” just getting news of the passing of Irfaan Khan .. this is a most disturbing and sad news ..An incredible talent .. a gracious colleague .. a prolific contributor to the World of Cinema .. left us too soon .. creating a huge vacuum ..Prayers and duas

Remembering Irrfan Parineeti wrote, “This hurts so much because he was the nicest, coolest guy! Every interaction with him was so memorable. Love you Irrfan Sir. You were a real fighter!! Love and strength to the family ? #RIP #IrrfanKhan”

Taapsee was heartbroken too as she tweeted, “When we thought nothing could make us feel worse,this happened. I think I will refuse to believe you are no more by watching all your work time n again n again n again. I have known you that way n shall continue to know you that way for ever. You ARE the best we have #IrrfanKhan”

Irrfan was last seen in Homi Adajania’s ‘Angrezi Medium’ that also starred Kareena Kapoor. The actor was also absent from the promotions due to his ailment.
