Nag Ashwin Advices Mrunal Thakur To Choose Better Scripts
Mrunal Thakur, who is currently enjoying widespread appreciation for her performance in Dacoit, received a heartfelt compliment from filmmaker Nag Ashwin during the film’s recent success meet. The gathering saw the presence of the cast and crew, along with the Kalki 2898 AD director. Nag Ashwin not only praised Mrunal’s acting but also advised her to be mindful while selecting her future projects.
Nag Ashwin, after applauding the film in his speech, said, “Mrunal, I think you are amazing. I am generally very protective of the stuff that you pick. Whenever you do something that’s not great, I am like why is she doing that? She deserves to do much better stuff. And whenever there’s a character that has that depth or sorrow or pain, I think you are like that era of Madhubala and Smita Patil, there are not many people like this. So please don’t do random stuff and do good stuff.”
Moved by the sincere appreciation, Mrunal appeared emotional and expressed her gratitude by bowing her head in acknowledgment of his kind words.
About Dacoit- Ek Prem Katha
Directed by Shaneil Deo, the romantic action drama is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios. The ambitious project was jointly crafted by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil and shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu.
Giving the film a 2.5-star rating, Bollywood Bubble praised the acting but criticized the film for its underwhelming technical accomplishments. A part of our review read, “While the first half is slow and all over the place, the last 15 minutes is the most engaging and emotion-filled.” The review also noted, “The acting by Anurag Kashyap, Atul Kulkarni, and at times Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur (are the biggest plus of the film). Aside from them, the only other things that work in favour of Dacoit is a twist towards the end and some other moments where Adivi mesmerizes viewers with his eyes.”
Their Upcoming projects
Nag Ashwin is currently busy working on the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Prabhas. While Deepika Padukone was part of the first installment, reports suggest she may not return for the sequel. The original film was a massive success, earning over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide, raising expectations for the next chapter.
Meanwhile, Mrunal is preparing for her upcoming release Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by David Dhawan. The romantic comedy stars Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. Fans will also get to see Mouni Roy and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles. The film is slated to hit theatres on June 5.
