In the video, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director is heard saying, “My father Yash Johar loved everything about the movies. He just had to step onto a film set and he was a changed man. But his heart lay in the people who made up the industry. From the spot boys to the cameramen, from the editors to the actors, they made up his world. He was naturally a kind and empathetic person, who understood that being in movie business is hard. Which is why it gives me great pleasure to announce the formation of the Yash Johar Foundation for the people of the entertainment industry.”

Highlighting how the foundation will help those in need, the filmmaker further added, “The Yash Johar Foundation has three main pillars that it will support: financial well-being, health and education and vocational training. Considering the current scenario, we are taking into considering the effects and after-effects of Covid-19. We have initiated YJF Covid Response 2021 to address immediate needs such as food, shelter and medicines of those within the entertainment industry who have been negatively impacted by the pandemic. My father was a man who always looked for solutions and always taught me to look for them too. This is a step in that direction.”

Several celebs like Abhishek Bachchan, Dia Mirza, Manish Malhotra, Abhinav Shukla, Zoya Akhtar, Ekta Kapoor and others lauded KJo’s initiative and called it a noble thought.

On the work front, Karan’s production house has an interesting line up of films waiting to hit the silver screen this year. They include- Sooryavanshi, Brahmastra and Liger.
