Assam Floods: Kartik Aaryan Donates Rs 1 Cr To Relief Fund; CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Thanks Actor For His Generous Contribution

The monsoons have been relentless this year, leading to flooding across many parts of India. As the rains continue to fill our water reservoirs, it has also led to Assam facing one of its worst floods to date. Over the last few days, several Bollywood stars have taken to social media and urged fans to aid the victims of the devastating floods in any capacity they can. While the death toll now touching 80, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has not only appealed for help but has also contributed generously towards the cause.

Kartik Aaryan Donates Rs 1 Cr To Assam Flood Relief Fund

Days after Salman Khan pledged multi-phase aid for those impacted by the floods in Assam through his NGO Being Human and fan clubs in the state, Kartik Aaryan has now made a donation of Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. While the actor didn’t take to social media to boost of his generosity, the office of the Chief Minister of Assam announced his good deed on Thursday through a X (formerly Twitter) post.

Their tweet read, “Gratitude to actor @TheAaryanKartik for his generous contribution of ₹1 Crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. HCM Dr. @himantabiswa appreciated his commendable gesture and timely support toward state relief measures.” Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also thanked the actor on X for his contribution. He wrote, “Truly heartened by your generous contribution, @TheAaryanKartik. Your support will go a long way in helping the people of Assam #AssamFloods.”

Bollywood Comes Out In Support Of Assam Flood Victims

Over the last several days, Bollywood stars like Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Adah Sharma, Guru Randhawa, Raashii Khanna and others have used their social platforms to raise awareness and aid about the crisis in Assam. As per reports, Salman – who is currently busy filming director Vamshi Paidipally’s upcoming untitled project in Mumbai, is actively coordinating relief efforts through his fan club and charitable organisation for the victims of the devastating flood.

A source close to the actor told a leading publication that Khan personally reached out to the Salman Khan Fan Club in Assam to plan the relief work. His multi-phase aid will see Being Human and SKFC Assam partnering to distribute ready-to-eat food packets in Sivasagar, with supplies being transported from Guwahati. Each packet will reportedly contain biscuits, jaggery, poha, puffed rice, bread, cheese and jam.

Talking about the impact of the flood, the situation in Assam remains grim and the death toll is likely to increase further.
