Becoming an actor in Bollywood is one hell of a task and it is an entirely different ball game when you are not from a filmy background. ‘The struggle is real’ does not even cover the hardships and difficulties one has to go through to land even a passing role in a movie. On such non-filmy background actress is Kriti Sanon who has made her own space in Bollywood and she is standing her ground strong. Kriti Sanon sat down for an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble for Her Story Season 2 and revealed how big casting directors said that she will not get better parts in movies and that she should just go with whatever comes her way.

Kriti Sanon told Bollywood Bubble that she had bagged a role in a big Bollywood film but she did not agree much with the part as it had very little substance, “There were times when I got a film by a big production house but it didn’t have a good enough part. She was the only girl but it was an ensemble it didn’t have much for me to do.”

Kriti then revealed that the casting director was of the opinion that she will not bag a better project and that she should just take up whatever comes her way, no matter how small the part is, “It was a big casting director, she was sweet, but she said ‘do you want to wait out or you wanna do it?’. Then my manager was said that ‘I don’t think she can get something better, she should just take it up’.”

But the Heropanti actress said that she was in two minds as self-doubt began to creep in about whether she will get a decent launch in Bollywood or not, “At that time you go through such a dilemma where you go like, ‘should I just do it, what if I don’t get anything. Let me just start.’ You are so desperate to start at that point, where you are just self-doubting, you don’t know you will get another opportunity or not. At that time your heart is still feeling that there is not much for me to do. Ok fine it is a big production but I don’t know. I was glad that my management at that point said ‘no you should just wait it out. Your first film is so important, wait out for the right project, it will come your way.'”

Kriti then went on to make her big Bollywood debut alongside Tiger Shroff in Heropanti. The movie was much loved by the audience and so was Kriti.
