The hefty donation will be handed over to the Indian Army on the occasion of Master Dinanath Mangeshkar’s death anniversary on April 24. Along with this, the Dinanath Mangeshkar Pratisthan has also pledged to donate Rs. 5 lakh to the army for the benefit of the soldiers who serve our country.

Talking about her initiative, our beloved Lata didi told Maharashtra Times, “Many people in the industry always help soldiers who sacrifice their lives for the nation. Even now, people from the industry are helping out. We have also announced something from our end.”

It is to be noted that the legendary singer has often spoken up about how much she respects our security forces personnel. Previously, on her birthday, she had told her fans, “Instead of sending me birthday greeting card, gifts, flowers, spend that money on jawans.”

On February 14, as many as 40 CRPF jawans were martyred and over 30 others were injured when a car loaded with over 200 kg of explosives rammed into a CRPF bus. The unfortunate incident happened on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Not only the common people and politicians but also Bollywood stars expressed their condolences for the CRPF martyrs and their families.

After the attack, Lata Mangeshkar had also expressed her grief and had taken to Twitter to post a heartfelt message.
