Four More Shots Please! actress Maanvi Gagroo revealed that she was once asked by someone to ‘compromise’ to get a role. She complained to the OTT platform, asking to take action against the offender who was using its name as bait. She shared this in her interview with Times of India. Today Maanvi is a well-known actor in the industry but it was not a cakewalk for her to establish herself. She faced rejections and had to learn how the industry works.

Taking about the rejections, Maanvi said, “I used to hear that I am neither fat nor thin and the makers cannot decide where would I fit. But am I not just like most Indian women who are neither too skinny nor too big?” But now, she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her weight.

Maanvi shot to fame with web series Tripling and she also appeared in two films-Ujda Chaman and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan but she isn’t happy with their performance at the box-office. According to her, Ujda Chaman was not marketed well and many people were unaware as to what it was about. The reason behind Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’s poor performance at the box-office is that the subject of same-sex love was ahead of its times as per Maanvi.

Maanvi is famous for her web shows like Permanent Roommates and Made In Heaven. In an interview to Hindustan Times, she said that OTT came to her rescue and web changed the game and got the artiste in her noticed. “Web opened doors for actors, directors, writers, technicians, who weren’t being able to progress much given the binary existence created by films and TV,” she said.
