Maanvi Gagroo

Maanvi Gagroo has carved a niche for herself with her relatable performances across films and web series. Over the years, she has impressed audiences with projects like Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Ujda Chaman. However, she is perhaps best known for playing Siddhi Patel in the popular female-led series Four More Shots Please!, a role that has made her a familiar face among OTT viewers. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Maanvi opened up about dealing with online trolling, the emotional impact of unsolicited opinions, and how she protects her peace in the age of social media. Scroll on to know what the actress had to share.

Maanvi Gagroo ADMITS Trolling Impacts Individuals’ Emotions

Speaking about trolling and why it is often easier to dismiss than to truly ignore, Maanvi Gagroo acknowledged that while people know they should not pay attention to online negativity, it can still leave an impact. “We all know ki yaar is pe zyada dhyaan dene ki zarurat nahi hai. Ye toh log hain, log toh bolenge hi. Anonymous accounts hain, they are hiding behind like a laptop or whatever. Woh sab hum jaante hain. And these are people joh hum shayad kabhi na mile inse zindagi mein. They are not humara close circle nahi hai joh humein bol raha hai. Tab woh kuch bole toh phir bhi samajh aata hai, but somewhere woh rehta toh hai.”

The actress further reflected on how repeated criticism can slowly affect a person’s mindset, even when they are aware that those opinions do not define them. She said, “And it’s easier said than done ki yaar bhool jao na, like whatever, to hell with it and all that. But I think wo somewhere rehta hai. So what I try to do is ek toh main baar-baar apne aap ko ye remind karne ki koshish karti hoon ki ye opinions hain, they are not facts. You know, they are just opinions. Opinions are not facts, you know. Because kai baar opinions hi hum itni baar sun lete hain that we start believing it. So you have to tell yourself ki it’s an opinion and it’s not an opinion of someone who matters to you.”

Maanvi Gagroo Says OTT Actors Face A Unique Challenge

Maanvi also pointed out that OTT actors often face a unique challenge. Since audiences watch them on personal devices and spend hours with their characters, many begin associating the actor with the role rather than seeing them as individuals. She said, “The other thing is ki a lot of times, you know, especially with I think OTT actors, it happens more because aap unko apne phone pe ya iPad pe dekhte ho. Toh they don’t treat us like people.”

She revealed, “Like bahut baar mere saath hua hai that, you know, they will itna paas khade hoke, they will be looking at me, and I will smile ki you know, toh woh dekh hi nahi rahe. Unke dimaag mein kuch aur chal raha hai, ki unke dimaag mein serial chal raha hai, you know, Siddhi chal rahi hai ya Chanchal chal rahi hai.”

Sharing a lighter take on such situations, Maanvi said she has always felt uncomfortable when people stare at her, even before she became an actor. “Toh mujhe lagta hai ki are bhai ya toh aake mujhse baat karo ya matlab ya mat ghuro. Main toh ye shayad even before I was an actor, agar koi ghurta to main ladne lag jaati thi sadak pe, bhai kya ho raha hai. It’s a tricky situation ki aap kitna aur jitna aap zyada, jitna popular hote rehte ho utne zyada opinions aate hain.”

Maanvi Gagroo Reveals How She Handles Trolling

When asked whether any particular incident had deeply affected her, the actress revealed that she has developed a straightforward approach to dealing with negativity online. She said, “Nahi, thankfully itna koi matlab kabhi-kabhi aise aa jaate hain. Koi comment kar dega, koi bhi aake kuch bhi likh jaata hai, you know. Toh my other thing is that main delete kar deti hoon. Matlab mujhe nahi farq padta because mera, this is like my home right? My account is my home. Toh koi bhi aake kuch bhi nahi bol sakta hai. And then it’s up to me ki main usko ghar se nikaal deti hoon. Toh main delete kar deti hoon, block kar dungi. Zyada koi pareshaan kare toh.”
