Shraddha Kapoor To Star In Mahavatar Opposite Vicky Kaushal?
In a major update for lovers of grand-scale cinema, Shraddha Kapoor has reportedly emerged as the leading contender for Amar Kaushik’s mythological film Mahavatar. The audience may get to see her share screen space with Vicky Kaushal, who is set to portray Chiranjeevi Parashurama. Discussions with Shraddha are said to be ongoing, with filming likely to begin after June.
As per a Mid-Day report, conversations with Shraddha Kapoor are currently in progress, and if finalized, the film is expected to go on floors after June. The report stated, “Shraddha fits the brief perfectly. The team was keen on someone who brings star value and presence. Plus, the Vicky-Shraddha pairing will be fresh, and the makers are confident this combination will resonate with the audience.” However, the Stree actress has not officially responded to these reports.
At present, Shraddha is busy shooting for her upcoming film Eetha, helmed by Laxman Utekar. Amid this, she has reportedly been approached for Mahavatar. Before Shraddha Kapoor, Deepika Padukone was reportedly in talks with the makers for the female lead in the mythological saga. However, it now seems the team has shifted its focus to Shraddha.

Mahavatar is an upcoming high-budget Indian mythological film that revolves around the story of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, the eternal warrior of dharma, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal. The film is directed by Amar Kaushik (best known for Stree) and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. Mahavatar explores the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Envisioned as a grand cinematic spectacle, the film is slated for a Christmas 2026 release.
