EXCLUSIVE: Medha Shankr Admits There Was Family Pressure To Get Married Until 12th Fail Released; Says, “Mere Papa Se Koi Pressure Nahi Tha But…”

Opening up about the often-discussed topic of marriage pressure, Medha Shankr gets candid about her personal journey and how family expectations evolved over time. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actress reveals how things shifted after the success of 12th Fail, sharing that while close relatives once nudged her towards marriage, her immediate family—especially her father—has always been supportive of her choices. Medha Shankr Opens Up On Family Pressure To Get Married

When asked if there are family pressures to tie the knot in real life, Medha Shankr said, “Nahi, thankfully mere saath aisa nahi hota hai, toh main is baare mein zyada burai nahi kar paungi. Mujhe toh itna pressure hai hi nahi, honestly. Abhi toh nahi hai, at least.”

She further added, “Aisa nahi hai ki mujhe bahut pressure hai. The only good part is that my dad doesn’t put pressure. Haan, 12th Fail se pehele jab main joh bhi kaam kar rahi thi, toh kuch relatives hote hain na poore khandaan mein 2-3 log jo zyada excited hote hain ‘shaadi karao, shaadi karao’, toh thankfully mere papa waise nahi hain. But haan, mere chacha ji aur bua ji usually bolte the ‘bachchon ke time se shaadi karao’, which is fair, it makes sense. Shuru mein unki taraf se thoda pressure tha, but maine kabhi seriously nahi liya, main hamesha hansi mein taal deti thi. Maine kabhi pressure feel hi nahi kiya.”

Medha continued, “Aur jab 12th Fail hogayi, toh joh bol rahe the woh bhi thode shaant hogaye ki ‘Nahi nahi, kuch toh kar rahi hai, isko time do.’ Toh woh jo thoda bahut pressure tha woh bhi khatam ho gaya. Mere papa ki taraf se toh bilkul pressure nahi hai, but I understand ki hota hai. Mujhe lagta hai point yeh nahi hai ki jaldi ya late shaadi karo. The essence is getting married, so focus on that.”

Medha Shankr Says Age Doesn’t Matter For Marriage

Sharing how age doesn’t matter for marriage, Medha added, “I feel age ki baat nahi hai. Hum generally age ko experience se connect karte hain? Ab 25 saal ki age mein joh meri samajhdaari thi, cut to today, the experience and understanding I have is slightly more. I would like to believe that. Toh us samajhdaari ke basis pe maybe I can make a better decision, bas.”
