Not only did Kiara Advani made history by being the first Indian actress to attend the Met Gala with her bump, she also brought a wave of emotion, culture and couture to the event. Apart from her ravishing red carpet appearance, what stole attention was how Sidharth Malhotra turned cheerleader and escorted wife Kiara for her MET Gala debut. Not only this, Kiara even gave a pep talks to her baby and gorged on pizza ahead of debut.

Sidharth arrived in NYC hours after Kiara landed to show support for his wife’s big debut at the red carpet. His pictures and videos with fans are surfacing all over social media. In one of the videos, he was spotted escorting Kiara, who is expecting her first baby, to the lobby, and the couple was seen walking hand-in-hand. He was seen patiently waiting for his wifey and eve clicking pics with fans while she made her appearance.

About Kiara’s MET Gala outfit

Styled by the iconic Anaita Shroff Adajania, mum-to-be Kiara Advani made her Met Gala debut in a custom Gaurav Gupta creation — a striking black gown adorned with a metallic breastplate. Titled Bravehearts, the couture piece paid homage to the spirit of the Black Dandy, a symbol of defiance, elegance, and individuality. The breastplate on her outfit had two unique forms- the mother’s heart and the baby’s heart- linked together with a chain that looked like an umbilical cord. It was not just fashion, it was storytelling.

While speaking about her Met Gala outfit, the actress expressed, “My brief to Gaurav was this is the next phase of my life that I want that to be a part of the expression and of this outfit… I love the way we have interpreted the theme and the way it tied up with me doing this for my baby like André Leon Talley paved the way for the next generation”. She also mentioned, while eating a big slice of pizza, “It’s my MET diet”. She further said, “I just want to tell you all that after a long time, I know this is my new body, but I am really feeling hot in this new body.”

For those unversed, in February Sidharth and Kiara announced that they are expecting their first child. They shared the news on their Instagram accounts by posting a picture in which they hold a pair of baby socks. They wrote, “The greatest gift of our lives (baby emoji) Coming soon (sic).”

Kiara joins the MET Gala runway of fame alongside fellow Bollywood icons like Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and singer Diljit Dosanjh.
