As per a report in Amar Ujala, sadly, just a few days ago, Ravi had sought help from Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Dharmendra and Sonu Sood. He was impressed by Sonu’s selfless work for the migrants. And since he also hails from Punjab he had felt that at least these aforementioned actors would come forward to offer him financial support.

The report further states that Ravi, who was also known as Ratan, breathed his last in his ancestral home in Punjab’s Maler Kotla. The actor’s financial condition was so bad that he had to rely on temples (Gurudwara) for his meals. Chopra’s adopted daughter Anita has confirmed the news of his death.

Ravi’s real name is Abdul Jabbar Khan. After starring in ‘Mome Ki Gudiya’, Ravi was offered several films. However, he refused them as his family was against his decision to act in films. Chopra gave up his acting career at the behest of his grandmother. He never got married and with ailing health, he couldn’t even look after himself.

May his soul Rest in Peace.
