Neha Dhupia called out paps at a Mumbai event over inappropriate back shots. Her remarks have reignited the conversation around respecting actors’ boundaries and the need for more ethical paparazzi practices. Neha Dhupia strongly called out paparazzi at an event in Mumbai over what she described as “back shots” taken inappropriately. Speaking sharply to photographers, she said such pictures were disrespectful and added that actors were tired of repeatedly asking for this to stop.
Neha Dhupia BLASTS At Pap For Taking Her Inappropriate Backshots
Her remarks came after videos of her running on a track recently went viral online. At the Mumbai event, Neha directly confronted the photographers and said this kind of behaviour should end, adding that actors speak to the media with respect and expect the same in return. Neha said, “Yeh badtameezi se backshot kaun leta hai tumlog me se? Kaun leta hai? Band karo (Who among you is taking these back shots so disrespectfully? Who is doing it? Stop it).”
She added, “Mera nahi karna hai. Kisi ka nahi karna hai. Bol bol kar thak gaye hain. Bag utha kar, book utha kar, backward walking karke. Yeh sab nahi chalega abhi. Band karo yeh sab. Humlog bahut izzat se karte hai aap login se baat. Mat karo (Do not do it to me. Do not do it to anyone. We are tired of saying this over and over. Picking up bags and books, walking backwards – none of that will work any more. Put a stop to all this. We speak to you all with great respect. Do not do this).”
Actors’ Relationship With Pap
Neha is not the only actor to have recently objected to photographers’ behaviour. Janhvi Kapoor and Arbaaz Khan have also called out paparazzi over similar incidents, raising concerns about privacy and professional boundaries.
Earlier this week, Sonakshi Sinha appeared visibly annoyed while leaving a restaurant in Mumbai with her family. A video from the outing showed her firmly asking photographers to stop recording her as she exited with husband Zaheer Iqbal and father Shatrughan Sinha. With folded hands, she said, “Bas, guys. Thank you. Good night!” Despite her request, the cameras continued rolling as she walked towards her car.
Actor Salman Khan, too, appeared visibly irked by paparazzi behaviour when he visited a hospital earlier in May, after which the media apologised to him.
Meanwhile, Neha Dhupia is married to actor Angad Bedi. The couple welcomed their daughter Mehr in November 2018 and later became parents to their son Guriq in 2021.
