Today, the entire world is celebrating International Women’s Day. To mark the occasion, everyone from common people to celebs are sharing posts and quotes on their social media handles. But there is one celeb whose thought is different from others. She is none other than Sonam Kapoor who is opinionated and is known for her thought-provoking statements.

Taking to her Instagram handle, the ‘Neerja’ actress shared three pictures with plain black, pink and white background respectively. In the first picture, she wrote a lengthy post. The excerpts read as: “21 million ‘unwanted’ girls are born in our country as per the Economic Survey 2018. Gender inequality is something so deeply rooted in our culture, it’s hard to see where it all began. Was it before a daughter was born, with the question of foeticide looming over the womb?” Here’s the full post.

The second post has a pink background with a post where Sonam says that women are “being able to start and support movements that speak for their rights. But is this enough?”

The third picture has a white background where she wrote, “Inspire young girls and help them achieve what they put their minds to!”

These are really thoughtful and sensible posts, aren’t they?

Sonam Kapoor is one of those actresses in Bollywood who has never minced her words while voicing her opinions. She has always inspired and encouraged many women with her speech and posts.

On the professional front, Sonam Kapoor was last seen in ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ where she played a character who is in a same-sex relationship.
