Confirmed: Parineeti Chopra will star opposite Sidharth Malhotra in ‘Shotgun Shaadi’

After several speculations regarding who will be starring opposite handsome hunk Sidharth Malhotra in ‘Shotgun Shaadi’, we finally know that its bubbly actress Parineeti Chopra who has bagged this film.

Earlier reports of Shraddha Kapoor and even ‘Dangal’ fame actress Fatima Sana Shaikh being considered for this role were doing the rounds. However, casting director Mukesh Chhabra‘s Casting Co. put all those rumours to an end, as they took to their official micro-blogging site Twitter and shared the following post:

Interestingly, after ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, this will be the second time that Sidharth and Parineeti will be seen together in a film.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor, ‘Shotgun Shaadi’ is based on the issue of groom kidnapping prevalent in Bihar and apparently, Sidharth will be playing a thug in this film. Previously talking about Sid’s preparation for the film, a source close to the development had told DNA, “Sid will be putting on weight for the film, but only in the form of muscle. He wants to have a fit and toned physique for ‘Shotgun Shaadi’. He has been gymming consistently and has also taken to aqua exercises for the same. He has hired a language coach who’s helping him learn a Bihari dialect and get the accent right.”

The film will go on floors this year, as the shooting of this film will take place in Lucknow by the end of this month.
