Poonam Pandey, a model and actress, debuted with Nasha, directed by Amit Saxena. Alongside starring in Hindi film The Journey of Karma, she also starred in the Telugu film Malini & Co., directed and written by Veeru K. Pandey, also appeared in Gladrags contests, and featured in reality shows like Lock Upp, gaining widespread fame for her bold persona. When asked about the fine line between vulgarity and aesthetics, and whether Khushi Mukherjee and Tanya Chatterjee are using shock value appropriately, Poonam Pandey said, “Use the shock value, I’m absolutely fine with that. A lot of people do that. Bohot saari movie ki marketing bhi hoti hai, shock value se. Toh, that is absolutely okay, but we also need to understand ek dayra. Road pe hai na chote bacche chalte hai joh school jaate hai, road par boodhe log chalte hai, joh bohot zyada upar nahi hai is wakt. Toh humko khaali vo choti choti cheezon ka dhyaan dena hai, if you’re doing anything. Toh, there are these tiny things that we need to be sure of because, at the end, this is India. Yeh Bharat hai.”

The actress further added, “Aap road par aise hi ghoomoge toh it is not a good idea. Aapko joh karna hai aap karo, aap internet par karo. Log aapki page par ja rahe hai aur bakaida aapki post par ja rahe hai toh woh aadmi interested hai aapko dekhne ke liye. Agar aap kisi ke saamne zabardasti jaoge toh woh galat baat hai. Toh just be aware ki aap aise bohot saare middle class log hai joh subah subah khana nahi khaaye hai unke saamne agar aap train mein jaake nachoge toh woh bhi sochenge ki bhai ho kya raha hai mere saath? Toh i think that is wrong. Because aap society ko kahi na kahi disturb kar rahe ho.”
